U.S. Secretary of Defense Hagel: The Islamic State Is 'An Incredibly Dangerous New Threat'

Hagel Notes Progress Against ISIL as World Grows More Dangerous -- US Department of Defense

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20, 2014 – The U.S.-led fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant is showing good signs of progress, and the first of 1,500 additional U.S. troops that President Barack Obama ordered to Iraq should begin arriving there in the next few weeks, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said in a PBS interview broadcast last night.

We're doing well, but not really. Making progress, but are not where we need to be. Things are going well, but we need more money, etc, etc, etc. this reminds me so much of when a sports writer hitched a ride with Yogi Berra who was driving to his induction to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Becoming suspicious of the way they were going the writer asked Yogi if he was lost, Yogi replied:" We might be lost, but we're making good time". A fitting epitaph for all this.

Just for your info James .... I have never failed in getting a smile in Russia when I quote Yogi Berra. The Chinese .... not the case .... they always gave me a serious look.

The Chinese never have understood the great Post Modern Western Philosophers such as Yogi, perhaps too inscrutable.
