The Hill: Mueller, FBI face crisis in public confidence

Sixty-three percent of polled voters believe that the FBI has been resisting providing information to Congress on the Clinton and Trump investigations. This is a remarkable finding for an agency whose new head said a few days ago that the agency was in fine shape. No, it isn’t.

Fifty-four percent say special counsel Robert Mueller has conflicts of interest that prevent him from doing an unbiased job, also according to this month’s Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll. So, given this finding, the silence from the special counsel on the subject has become downright deafening.

WNU Editor: This has not been a good two weeks for the Mueller Commission. After the Flynn plea deal the momentum and support was with the Mueller Commission .... I do not see it now. And among those who have been consistent in supporting the investigation .... the media, Democrats, and some Republicans .... a growing shift that this perceived bias may result in the termination of the Commission. I personally believe that the Mueller Commission will continue, and they will go where the investigation will take them. But they are definitely under pressure to produce, and more importantly .... they are under a different spotlight now. The CAPS-Harris poll says that fifty-four percent believe that special counsel Robert Mueller has conflicts of interest that prevent him from doing an unbiased job .... these are numbers that will only become more negative if the current trend of perceived bias continues and evidence of Trump-Russian collusion are not presented and indictments delivered.

aWe have an ongoing investigation. So why bother polling what people with no knowldege of what is really taking place voice their opinion at this point? If say 80 % of people polled said Trump is guilty of this and that, is that mean no more investigation has to take place? or 80% think it a waste of time, so stop the investigation?

The Mueller Commission is more politics than anything else. Opinion polls mean a lot in the political world, and political behavior is going to be dictated by that. If Mueller was polling 80% favorable .... Congress will not be initiating hearings on the FBI and Justice Dept. .... specifically on the investigators that initially worked on the Mueller team. This is why I have been critical of the Mueller Commission in the past few months. It is important to find the truth, and to prosecute those who break the law. But Mueller is squandering all of that because he has not been forthright to the American public (like the dismissal of the lead FBI investigator), and people are reacting.

It's long past time to shut down the "Mueller Commission." The whole thing has been a farce from the start.

We need to end Cold War 2 by any means necessary. Make it happen!! The Russians appear to trust and respect Donald Trump. Democrats and mainstream Republicans are held in utter contempt by them. As such, they should be opposed with all of our strength and vigor!!

End Cold War 2 by any all means neccessary!! DJT offers us the best chance possible to do so. HRC and her allies as well mainstream media are held in contempt by Russians and their leaders. All Americans should reject the mainstream media
, mainstream Republicans, and Democrats as well as HRC. Thus far Russians and their b leaders have assumed Americans have a modicum of intelligence. We should endeavor not to disappoint them.

Currently Russians and their leaders are weigning us in tne balance. They no doubt find us wanting. We should endeavor to change this.

It's just fair that they are a bit under pressure. Imagine you are being investigated and it takes a year and nothing to show for, millions in tax payer money, allegations, name calling etc etc.. we want evidence, not some BS democrats made up. Evidence.
