Reaction To North Korea's Announcement That They Are Suspending All Missile And Nuclear Tests

BBC: North Korea missile and nuclear test halt hailed

North Korea's announcement that it is halting nuclear and missile tests has received a broad international welcome.

Leader Kim Jong-un said further tests were not needed, as the North had demonstrated it had nuclear weapons.

Donald Trump described the move as "good news" for the world, and South Korea said it was meaningful progress.

The EU said it was "positive", but called for complete denuclearisation. North Korea is preparing for historic summits with South Korea and the US.

Early on Saturday Kim Jong-un said: "From 21 April, North Korea will stop nuclear tests and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles."

Perhaps Obama or George Bush or Clinton could not have gotten the same result with the same sanctions.

Trump has what they do not.

Yep,if trump pulls this off he should get the Nobel peace prize, had the gets to take it it to the brink and and call Kim's bluff .

Trump getting a peace price for peace on the Korean peninsula would be one of the worst days of Obama's life and that of many Leftists.

Trump would get it for actually doing something and more than that something significant and positive.

Obama got his based on hope and due to black privilege.

Obama got his prize for showing up at the starting line. You cannot make this stuff up.

If peace and perhaps even unity should happen on the Koren peninsula it would be wonderful news for Americans who may expect to see a reduction in the military budget and making some money available to spend on fixing bridges etc., at home.

There will never ever be enough money to fix the bridges.

The longer a system has been in place, the more featherbedding there is. The grift rate has to continually increase.

There are leading politicians, (leftists) real mother fuckers, who hike taxes and then have a side business as a tax lawyer getting paying clients relief from those same taxes.

There will never be enough money in such a circumstance.

So with North Korea at of the way that means that the defense budget can come down?

You have to wonder if some people can only pay attention to one shiny object at a time.

Some people talk in such vagaries that by their way thinking everything is easy and we;'ll have faster than light travel tomorrow. IT is easy. They say it on Star Trek the Next Generation.

Captain Picard merely said "Make it So" and it was a done deal.

I wonder if those people know the saying "The Less You Know, The Easier It Seems"

Maybe a person could start with the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR). Well maybe they could, but why don't they?

Maybe if they read the QDR they might learn that North Korea while a regional power is just that, a regional power. The 800 pound gorilla is China and their military budget is increasing fast and they are increasingly bellicose. But someone had to chime in "Decrease the defense budget... fix the bridges"

Seriously, why do we have a UN, when a country like China bullies Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan, Japan, South Kora and The Phillipines? All the while closet communists like BK are quiet as church mice. Such hypocrisy is sickening.
