Will U.S. Forces In Syria Confront Iran In Syria

Al Jazeera: Will the US confront Iran's forces in Syria?

US officials have stated that they want to challenge Iranian influence in Syria, but how likely is a confrontation?

Tensions between Iran and the United States over Syria are at the highest they have been since the country's civil war started in 2011.

While Tehran and Washington have repeatedly voiced indignation about the other's presence in Syria, they have not reached the point of a military confrontation so far.

While the US has targeted fighters loyal to President Bashar al-Assad who have threatened its Kurdish allies and airbases, it has not directly attacked Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps officers, who command both pro-Assad militias and are embedded with Syrian military units.

WNU editor: There has already been skirmishes between U.S. forces and Iranian-backed militias in Syria .... but a direct conflict between U.S. - Iranian forces (if it occurs) will definitely spread to Iraq and elsewhere. Unfortunately .... Iran's supporters have already made it clear that they want revenge for last weeks missile strikes .... Iranian-Backed Militias Set Sights on US Forces (Foreign Policy), and I am sure they are making these threats because they have been given the green-light from Tehran.

"i has no win"

"i has no grammar"

So when the Iranians and Syrians are at a joint base and the Syrian aircraft take off to drop chlorine bombs and other stuff, the Iranians are just shuffling their feet and looking down at the tarmac?

Yes, I am sure this will happen and the US will protect the Kurds. The US will win the battle, just not sure we have a war winning strategy however. Again, were in an impossible position.

Well Antitroll, if you were replying to Felhake, then you suffered a catastrophic lexile failure.

Lesson to Antitroll,

The name, Antitroll, seems to have the same pedigree like the name Antifa.

As such it makes 95% to 99% of Americans look like they are so far to the right of you that they all voted for Ike, Abe or someone like that.

The problem for Iran is the size of their strength compare to US. The problem for US is there too much fronts for the size of our strength.

Fred the u.s has made a lot of enemies so why lately do you just assume Russian troll? Not sticking up for Vlad but your stupidly lately is really showing. I don't think your skitz like smithy boy but c'mon open those red eyes once in a while

Anon,

I did tease his grammar. It is not that I do not make numerous grammatically errors. However in his case, I could not understand what point that he was trying to make in his 3rd sentence.

Israel conducted an air strike against a Syrian airfield in the last month and killed 4 Iranians. I suppose that a helicopter carrying chlorine bombs could operate out of someone's garage, but most generally they operate out of airfields.

The Iranians are embedded through the Syrian military. If there is a gas attack by the SA on civilians, they knew about it, assisted the attack, or carried out the attack.

If everything was okay I would not be here. I'd be fishing or doing something else.

No, the troll could be Chinese, North Korean, Muslim brotherhood, a Bernie supporter, a DNC staffer, etc.

The U.S. has a lot of enemies.

So did Britain. In the 1930s Britain had Mussolini, Tojo, and da corporal for enemies. Italy had no axe to grind against Britain, but Italy still considered Britain an enemy.

We can do this all do long Anon. Maybe we can discuss Russian land tanks and where they were used.
