NFL Owners Tell Players That They Must Stand For The National Flag And Respect The Flag

CNN: NFL owners say players must stand for the National Anthem

Atlanta (CNN)NFL players this season must stand during the National Anthem, team owners decided Wednesday in Atlanta, a reaction to fierce backlash against some who took a knee in symbolic opposition to the systemic oppression of people of color, including by police.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said during a news conference that team owners unanimously agreed that the NFL can fine a team whose players protest on the sidelines during the National Anthem but that each team will set will its own rules regarding players who want to kneel. Players will not be fined individually by the league and will have the option to remain in the locker room while the anthem is played.

Previously, there had been no rule that prevented players from protesting.

LOL! Of course a Russian living in Canada knows what a "real" American is!
Dog-whistle much WNU editor?

Sure. "real fans", "real 'muricans" live in the heartland, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, etc... you know, the rube states. If you live on the coast, your Americaness doesn't quite rate.

And, of course the flag only represents the troops and cops. Nothing else, just troops and cops. Kaepernick's dignified protest still rings as loud and necessary as ever.

Anon, wnu didnt hint at anyone being more American than the other. The point he tried to make is that the majority of their fans found it offensive. If you laid off the koolaid a little bit, you might be able to read something, and actually comprehend it.

This should have been solved long before Trump was on the scene...glad they corrected themselves from the Starbucks route. I still won't watch!

Will the vendors selling $12 beers and $10 hotdogs be forced to stand at attention during the anthem, hands over hearts for the troops?

Will a stern faced real 'murican like VP Pence be around to punish the transgressors? He is from Indiana, thus a real American.
Not like Obama, who is from Kenya; I mean Hawaii.

We are almost at full MAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!

The players can still be in the locker room. Last season on top of the problems was still a dud. Hopefully not a another dud this year. Baseball was great last year.
